Vincent P. Petrucci is an Attorney serving the community of San Antonio, Texas, and Clients throughout the state. Vincent chose to become an attorney for one purpose, to serve others. As Albert Einstein said, “Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.” This is the way Vincent treats his Clients and approaches their individual cases. However, Vincent’s desire to serve did not start upon becoming a lawyer.
Vincent is a father of three children. He was born and raised in New Jersey, enlisting in the US Army in 1999. During that time, he applied for and was accepted to an Army commissioning program. In 2004, after graduating with a dual Bachelor Degree in History & Political Science from Rutgers University in New Jersey, Vincent was commissioned in the Army as an Officer in the Military Police Corps. Vincent was stationed at Ft. Hood, TX and deployed to Iraq for a total of 27 months between 2005-2008. While deployed, Vincent commanded over 40 Soldiers, patrolling the streets of Baghdad, standing up and training local Iraqi Police units, and providing security for polling sites during Iraq’s historic first free, Democratic elections. This is where Vincent’s aspiration to dedicate his life to the service of others was solidified. In 2013, Vincent was medically retired from the Army, however that passion to serve did not end with his time in the Army.
In 2016, Vincent graduated St. Mary’s University School of Law here in San Antonio. Vincent’s first job was as a prosecutor with the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted all levels of misdemeanor crimes and represented the State of Texas on appellate matters including parental rights terminations, felony drug possession, and negligent homicide, among others. Next, Vincent became the case manager in a treatment court dedicated for Veterans who have been arrested and are suffering from mental health or substance use issues, or both. Vincent’s primary concern was getting them access to necessary help through the VA or other local community partners while ensuring they address their criminal case at the same time.
As a combat veteran himself, Vincent suffers from many of the same issues as these Veterans, such as PTSD and various chronic physical injuries. In 2020, Vincent left the workforce to focus more comprehensively on his own mental and physical healing. But still, that desire to serve was there. With the help of various types of treatments, Vincent decided to slowly make his way back. With a kind gesture by the Partners at Grable Grimshaw Mora, PLLC, they offered to bring him on as an attorney on a limited basis, accepting his limitations and accommodating his various disabilities. This opportunity allows Vincent to continue to satisfy his wish to serve others.
